Applicants should have the equivalent of a major in French at the B.A. level, with a minimum of 9 hours of advanced undergraduate course work in French literature. Results of the Graduate Record Examination general test are required for domestic applicants. Non-domestic applicants whose first language is not English are required to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL iBT. A score of 22 or higher on the speaking section is required to be considered for a GTAship.
